Naturopathic Physician

Dr. Schwartz grew up in Chicago and earned a BA in International Relations and Spanish from Lake Forest College. She was an exchange student to Turkey and later studied in Spain on a Fulbright scholarship.  She graduated with honors from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2001 and has completed advanced training in Environmental Medicine and in IV therapy.  She has trained with ACAM (the American College for the Advancement of Medicine) and is certified in IV and chelation therapy.  She incorporates many non-invasivemodalities and approaches to assist patients in the cleansing of heavy metals and other environmental toxins which are often an underlying cause of disease. Dr. Schwartz believes in the importance of teaching her patients about diet and nutrition. As a former colon hydro-therapist she has developed various fasting and cleansing programs>and has taught about the benefits of raw food in cleansing and chronic disease. Dr. Schwartz is a referral doctor for Quantum Reflex Analysis (QRA),a kinesiology technique that accesses points in the body to help patients uncover the underlying cause of illness and support the body nutritionally. 
    She uses state of the art laboratory testing to assess patients’ overall endocrine health including adrenal, thyroid and reproductive hormones. Using botanical and nutritional approaches, Dr. Schwartz helps both men and women to balance hormones. She also prescribes customized Bio-identical hormone prescriptions when necessary. Dr. Schwartz has studied with Julia Ross author of The Mood Cure and The Diet Cure and uses The Road Back Program to help provide patients with natural approaches to treat depression, anxiety and insomnia.  She has had great success in helping patients wean off antidepressants in a safe and balanced way.  As an Ericksonian life coach she helps her patients achieve their health goals through cooperative teamwork. She utilizes diet, herbal and nutraceutical medicines, Frequency Specific Microcurrent, Bowen, Quantum Reflex Analysis, IV therapy and cleansing modalities to assist her patients in achieving optimal health.Dr. Schwartz enjoys sharing healthy meals with friends, hiking, skiing, tennis and exploring other cultures.  She lives with her husband and two sons in NE Portland.
